Andrea Reader is a local-first, DRM-free reading application for iPhone and iPad. It is designed to help you import, organize, and read your own digital files — including books, comics, manga, and documents — entirely on your device. The app does not include a bookstore, does not sell content, and does not operate as a platform or distribution service. It is a personal reading tool.
Andrea Reader is distributed exclusively through the Apple App Store and, during development phases, through Apple TestFlight. It is intended for personal, non-commercial use.
Andrea Reader allows you to import files from your own device storage and local document providers. You are solely responsible for the content you import and for ensuring that you have the legal right to use, store, and read those files on your device. Andrea Reader does not verify the origin, licensing, or legality of any file you import.
The app does not access, transmit, or store your files on any external server. All imported content remains on your device within the app's private local container. We have no access to your files, your library, or anything you import.
Andrea Reader does not require an account to use. There is no registration, no login, and no user profile associated with your use of the app. All data generated by the app — reading progress, collections, preferences, statistics — is stored locally on your device and belongs entirely to you. Andrea Reader offers a limited free trial period that gives you full access to all features. No payment information is required to begin the trial. When the trial period ends, continued access to premium features requires a paid subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase, processed securely through Apple's payment infrastructure.
Subscription billing, renewal, cancellation, and refund requests are handled entirely by Apple through your App Store account. Andrea Reader does not process payments directly and does not have access to your payment details. To manage or cancel a subscription, go to your Apple ID settings on your device.
Andrea Reader does not sell books, comics, or any other reading material. There is no in-app store, no content marketplace, and no curated catalog. The app is a tool for your own files. You bring the content — Andrea Reader provides the experience to read and organize it.
We may update, improve, modify, or remove features of Andrea Reader at any time, including as part of App Store updates. We will always aim to improve the app and maintain its core functionality, but we cannot guarantee that every feature will remain available indefinitely or that the app will be compatible with every file type, device model, or iOS version.
We may also update these Terms of Use when necessary. If significant changes are made, the updated version will be published on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
Andrea Reader, including its name, design, interface, and all original code, is the intellectual property of its developer. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on your Apple devices in accordance with these terms and Apple's usage rules. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, redistribute, or create derivative works from any part of the app.
Andrea Reader is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We make no guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with every file or device configuration. We work continuously to keep the app stable and reliable, but we cannot promise that it will work perfectly in all circumstances.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer of Andrea Reader shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of files, device incompatibility, or interruption of use — arising from your use of the app or your inability to use it. Your use of Andrea Reader is at your own risk.
If you experience data loss within the app, we strongly recommend maintaining your own backups of important files through your device's standard backup mechanisms (iCloud Backup, iTunes/Finder backup, or manual file management).
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is based, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the app shall be resolved in accordance with applicable local law.
