Andrea Reader is a local-first, DRM-free reading application for iPhone and iPad. It is designed to help you import, organize, download, and read digital files — including books, comics, manga, and documents — from your device, iCloud, compatible document providers, public-domain sources, or servers you choose to connect. The app does not operate as a bookstore or marketplace. It is a personal reading and library tool.
Andrea Reader is distributed exclusively through the Apple App Store and, during development phases, through Apple TestFlight. It is intended for personal, non-commercial use.
Andrea Reader allows you to import files from your own device storage, iCloud, document providers, public-domain sources, and compatible remote servers. You are solely responsible for the content you import, download, connect to, store, or read and for ensuring that you have the legal right to use those files. Andrea Reader does not verify the origin, licensing, or legality of any file you import.
Andrea Reader does not host your personal library for you. Files are stored locally, in Apple services you choose, or on servers you configure yourself. If you connect a remote server, you are responsible for that server, its credentials, its availability, and the content it provides.
Andrea Reader does not require an Andrea account to use. There is no Andrea registration, login, or user profile. Reading progress, collections, preferences, statistics, and related library data are primarily stored locally on your device, except where you choose to use Apple services, remote servers, sharing/export features, or other system integrations. Andrea Reader may offer free access, a free trial, paid subscriptions, promotional offers, or a one-time lifetime unlock depending on the version, region, and App Store configuration. Paid access unlocks premium app features; it does not include paid books, comics, manga, or other reading content.
Purchases, subscription billing, renewal, cancellation, refunds, and payment details are handled by Apple through your App Store account. Andrea Reader does not process payments directly and does not receive your payment card details. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled through Apple before the renewal date shown in your App Store account settings.
Andrea Reader does not sell books, comics, or any other reading material. There is no in-app store, no content marketplace, and no curated catalog. The app is a tool for your own files. You bring the content — Andrea Reader provides the experience to read and organize it.
Andrea Reader can help you browse or import from compatible sources such as OPDS, WebDAV, SMB, SFTP, iCloud, or public-domain catalogs. These features depend on third-party services, local networks, credentials, file availability, and internet access. We cannot guarantee that every server, catalog, file, archive, or metadata source will work forever or remain available.
We may update, improve, modify, or remove features of Andrea Reader at any time, including as part of App Store updates. We will always aim to improve the app and maintain its core functionality, but we cannot guarantee that every feature will remain available indefinitely or that the app will be compatible with every file type, server, catalog, device model, or iOS version.
We may also update these Terms of Use when necessary. If significant changes are made, the updated version will be published on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
Andrea Reader, including its name, design, interface, and all original code, is the intellectual property of its developer. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on your Apple devices in accordance with these terms and Apple's usage rules. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, redistribute, or create derivative works from any part of the app.
Andrea Reader is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We make no guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with every file or device configuration. We work continuously to keep the app stable and reliable, but we cannot promise that it will work perfectly in all circumstances.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer of Andrea Reader shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of files, device incompatibility, or interruption of use — arising from your use of the app or your inability to use it. Your use of Andrea Reader is at your own risk.
If you experience data loss within the app, we strongly recommend maintaining your own backups of important files through your device's standard backup mechanisms (iCloud Backup, iTunes/Finder backup, or manual file management).
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is based, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the app shall be resolved in accordance with applicable local law.
